Personally, if you are tight on money I would use the Winamp option. It has a USB key (dongle) which allows you to use it on multiple machines one at a time.

The Pro version costs $199, and allows you to install it on two systems.įor $179, you can buy CompuHost, which has everything. It has rotation, search, and a key changer.
(Though your Gigmaster may do the key change too.)įor $99, you can buy Hoster Lite which includes a ripper, though a bad one in my opinion. That allows you to add the songs to the media library then search them and play them, and do key changes. Add another $39 for Power CDG Burner/Ripper. I don't recommend using it.įor $40, you can buy Winamp, MP3+G, and Pacemaker. You would need to navigate your filesystem to find songs, instead of searching like you would with CompuHost, MTU Hoster, or Winamp. Siglos would work for you ok, but it wouldn't provide the type of search and library tools you need. Sounds like you need a ripping program first, to read the songs off your CDGs. I'm a 50's-60's guy moving into the techno karaoke age. So, if I sound somewhat dumb on the subject, I am! LOL! Are there laptop cd players that can play CDG? I appreciate your feedback. I'd like to line up the songs I want to sing (or the party guests), and just let the playlist run, or pick and choose as I go. I throw home parties now and then, but I sing virtually everyday. the Gig master would be for any guests who bring their own CDG discs. I have a Gigmaster, but, I want to load all of my CDG songs (3,000+) onto a hard drive and play through the lap top, using the Gigmaster as the sound system and a flat screen monitor for the lyrics. All you did was call the name and click "Play." I suspect most of the rest are like that too. I don't know about Hoster and S&D but SON was completely hands off. If you want to show people where they're at, you put up the rotation on the screen. Using computerized rotation there is no human error and you don't have to mess with it at all.

'scuse me but I think you're giving the software an undeserved bad rap. I still love having the slips or whiteboard there so the CUSTOMERS can see where they're at, rather than having to try to take a class in computer operations to see when they're up next! !

The mixing capabilities of Clubdjpro are just fine, it's got key adjust, plays movie files, so my old lasers on computer (.mpgs) work great, as do my mixing videos. The kj spends far too much time dealing with all the little bells and whistles rather than having the program just play the file. I personally can't stand ANY computerized rotation programs such as Hoster, SaxNDottys or any of the others. That's what sign up slips, sheets of paper, whiteboards etc are for! That being said, I have found Siglos to work as advertised once registered. If you just want to play them, for $20-40 you can just use Winamp + MP3G + Pacemaker, which works fine and has the extension possibility that Siglos doesn't. If you are going to play ZIP or MP3+cdg files from your disk, it seems that you want a hosting program like CompuHost or MTU Hoster. I have heard you say you have a CDG player already, so the main reason I use it doesn't really apply to you. It is essentially designed to play tracks from a file *or from your CD/DVD drive*. I own and use the program, but I can't see why you would want to.

they offer a free trial, but sometimes the limited trial programs can be frustrating with the limitations. I'm setting up my laptop, here at home (not a pro), and before I buy any software, do any of you use the Siglos player/list creator from Power Karaoke? Their other products seem to work fine. Hi, this topic seems to have run it's course, but being new here, and looking through the posts, I have to ask a question.
